It’s Friday once more, and boy, did this week zoom by like a gust of wind! Today’s shaping up to be a full day of editing as I play catch-up on a ton of work.
I must admit, I rolled out of bed much later than my usual time today – a whopping 9:30 am! Can’t recall the last time I slept in this late, but hey, perhaps the Lord had different plans for me today.
This week has been overflowing with blessings. Not the flashy, showy kind that everyone expects, but those subtle, soul-nourishing blessings from the Lord. You know, like the joy that floods your heart when you’re there for a friend in need, or witnessing someone receive divine insight that propels their spiritual growth and love for the Lord. Those are the blessings that truly resonate with me – the ones where I see the Father’s hand at work, not just in my life, but in the lives of those around me.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:4-7
I’m jotting down this post in two parts – first before diving into work, and now, post-work, some 8-9 hours later. I’m relieved to have tackled what needed to be done. Tomorrow’s an early start for Men’s Breakfast at the church – hands down one of the best parts of my week. It’s a unique experience, a fellowship with fellow brothers in Christ that’s incomparable to anything else in my life right now.
Got a packed weekend ahead, but amidst the hustle and bustle, I pray that you, yes, you reading this, have a weekend filled with blessings. May the joy I find in Christ be yours to experience as well. Remember, recognizing the Lord’s work in our lives is a blessing in itself, and I hope you find that same sense of joy and gratitude.
